About Jin Jiang Hotel

The Jin Jiang name goes back to the Jinjiang Sichuan restaurant that Dong Zhujun opened in Shanghai in 1935. In 1951 the city government moved the business into the 1929 Cathay Mansions and renamed it Jinjiang Hotel, a state guesthouse. During President Nixon’s 1972 visit the US delegation stayed there, and the Shanghai Communiqué was signed in its small auditorium.
