Steigenberger grew from the Europäischer Hof in Baden-Baden, which merchant Albert Steigenberger bought in 1930. The company, based in Frankfurt, became Deutsche Hospitality in 2016, was bought by China’s Huazhu (now H World) in 2020 and was renamed H World International in 2024. The brand had 56 hotels at the end of 2025.
